Alma Branson, 92, of Covington, formerly of Troy, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Covington Care Center. She was born September 26, 1921, in Somerset, Kentucky, to the late Ed and Efie (Vaughn) Foster. She married Emerson E. Branson on December 26, 1943 in Houston, Texas; he preceded her in death on November 4, 1993.
Mrs. Branson is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Samuel & Rebecca Branson of Troy; a daughter, Sherlyn Sue Branson; a sister, Ilene Ward of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Sue (Mike) Abney, Annette (Max) Miller, Heather (Chuck) Taylor, Emerson Lincoln (Ann) Branson; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Branson; a great-granddaughter; four sisters; and two brothers.
Alma was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. She had attended the former First Church of Christ Scientist in Troy.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, September 29, at Greenville Creek Cemetery, Buckneck Rd., Bradford, with Pastor Lynn Labs officiating. Memorial contributions may be made the Alzheimer’s Association, 31 W. Whipp Rd., Dayton, OH 45459. Arrangements are being handled through Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, Covington.
