Dennis Ely

Dennis W. Ely, 65, of Piqua, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, August 7, 2023 at his campground residence in Marblehead, Ohio. He was born March 4, 1958, in Piqua, to the late Hobart E. and Barbara (Rike) Ely. He married Julie G. (Potts) Ely; she survives.

Dennis will also be missed and remembered by sons, William (Emily) Ely of Vandalia and Jason (Katie) Phillips of Wellston; six grandchildren, Kyla, Taylor, Jayce, Hayley, Brayden and William Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Korie and Kian; and his brother, Rus (Amy) Ely of Covington.

He was a 1976 graduate of Covington High School, had worked for TDM Construction, and retired from Kokosing as an operating engineer. Dennis was a member of the Covington Eagles, V.F.W. and Amvets. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed cowboy action shooting.

Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, August 14, at Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston, Ohio. Friends may visit from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington.
