Harold Wintrow

Harold E. “Pete” Wintrow, 72, of Piqua, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 1, 2023, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born October 17, 1951, in Piqua, to the late Orville and Mary Ellen (Drewing) Wintrow. He married Marlene M. (Oelslager) Wintrow on August 18, 1973; they recently celebrated 50 years of marriage, and she survives.

He will also be missed and remembered by his children, Stephanie (Greg) Smith of Tipp City and Rex (Wendy) Wintrow of Piqua; a brother, Eugene (Aundalee) Wintrow of Piqua; six grandchildren, Devin (Kourtnee) Smith, Dalton, Jade & Logan Smith, Makayla (Aaron) LeVan and Haydan Wintrow; and three great-grandchildren, Ryker, Meiya and Brantlee.

Harold was a 1971 graduate of Covington High School and was a 39-year member of the Covington Eagles #3998. He was a lifelong farmer and general contractor. He will be best remembered as a simple man who enjoyed camping, antique tractor shows, and coffee in the mornings with his buddies at Buffalo Jack’s.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 7, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Covington Fire & Rescue.
