Lowell D. Lentz, 79, of Piqua, formerly of Covington, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the Covington Care Center. He was born May 13, 1936, in Columbus Grove, to the late Henry and Ruth (Reed) Lentz. He married Shirley J. (Mell) Lentz on April 8, 1956; she preceded him in death on October 29, 2000.
Lowell will be missed and remembered by his wife, Ruth (Pargeon) Lentz of Piqua; four sons, Dave (Pat) Lentz of Piqua, Gary Lentz of Piqua, Steven Lentz of Lima, and Dale (Kimberly) Lentz of Piqua; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Harmon (Katherine) Lentz of Roanoke, Va.; three sisters, Joyce Austin of Roanoke, Va., Lola Cox of Elida, and Judy (Ralph) Long of Elida; stepchildren Cynthia Jacobs, Amy (Jeff) Flora, Philip Miller, Jeff (Candy) Miller, and Todd (Sandy) Miller. He was preceded in death by a brother, Cloyce Lentz; sisters Adalaide Cox and Pauline Wilcox; his parents; and his stepmother, Martha (Reed) Lentz.
Mr. Lentz was a 1955 graduate of Gomer High School in Allen County. He retired from Hobart Brothers of Troy in 1996 after many years of service. He attended the Covington Church of the Brethren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at Miami Memorial Park, N. St. Rt. 48, Covington, with Pastor Michael Yingst officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County.
