Age 91, of Piqua, went to be with the Lord Friday, September 12, 2014, at Piqua Manor. She was born May 19, 1923, in Piqua, Ohio, to her parents Noble & Mabel (Studebaker) Snyder. Marceil worked at Lear Avia , Poultry Producers, and Winan’s Candy. She enjoyed farm life, family and friends, crocheting, baking, and creating confectionary items. Her specialties were homemade noodles, pot pie, angel food cakes, and Kentucky butter cakes. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Paul E. Apple; daughter Gladys Schmiesing; sisters Sue Lavey, Maxine Russell, Betty Giessman. She will be missed and remembered by her children and their spouses Lois Mayberry of Piqua, Carolyn & Charles Knouff of Piqua, Duane & Diana Apple of Covington, Joyce Marconette of Piqua; son-in-law William Schmiesing; grandchildren Michael Knouff, Anissa & Craig Barhorst, Debra & Chris Clark, Denise Apple, Douglas & Lacey Apple, Christopher & Paula Schmiesing, Carrie & Chris Armes, Tracee & Rick Henninger; 14 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sisters Donna Lemmon, Norma Lyons; brothers and sisters-in-law Dale & Teresa Snyder, Ray Snyder, Ron & Susan Snyder, Keith & Rosie Snyder; special friend Maxine Apple. The family wishes to thank the staff at Upper Valley Medical Center, Heartland of Piqua, and Piqua Manor for the specialized care and all persons who assisted with her home care over the past five and a half years.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, September 15, at Friedens Lutheran Church, 11038 W Versailles Rd, Covington OH 45318. Pastor Phil Elmore will officiate with interment following at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-6 PM Sunday at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 10 S. High Street, Covington.
