Patty Weng

Patty L. “Pat” Weng, 86, formerly of Covington, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Genesis HealthCare Troy Center.  She was born May 26, 1929, in Pleasant Hill, to the late Ralph and Fay (Shafer) Landis.

In November 1950, Patty married Robert “Bob” Weng at her family home in Pleasant Hill and together they shared a life for over 46 years.  Pat was preceded her in death by her loving husband Bob; sisters Lucille Turner, Mary Bashore, Margaret Brown; and brothers Harold, Earl, and Ray Landis.

She will be dearly missed and remembered by her daughter and son-in-law Sandy & George Sherry of Covington; her son Gary Weng of Troy; her sister Betty Copeland of Piqua; sister-in-law Pauline Landis of Troy; two grandchildren, Nicole (Chad) Bauer of Covington and Travis (Phon) Weng of Delaware; three great-grandsons, Tyler and Myles Bauer, and Bruce Weng; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Patty was a longtime resident of Covington and could be found outside working in her garden or tending to her many flowers in the yard.  She retired in 1991 from General Films with 24 years of service.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, May 16, at Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington.  Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park.  Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  If so desired, memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Patty to Hospice of the Miami Valley, 46 N.
