GARBER, Paul Vernon
Age 89, of Greenville, passed away Friday, October 31, 2014, at Wayne Hospital. He was born October 12, 1925, in Darke County, Ohio, to his parents Vernon & Bertha (Rutrough) Garber in the same home he lived in all his life. On December 21, 1947, he united in matrimony to Mildred Lucille Metzger in Anderson, Indiana, and together they shared a life for over 66 years. Both were baptized into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church on October 16, 1949. He retired from Hobart Brothers as a machinist in 1988 and prior to that he worked at Altman Mills. He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Mildred Lucille Garber; children and their spouses Charlene Finley of Wichita, Kansas, Christine & Wade Farmer of Greenville, Coleen & Kenneth Hollinger of New Castle, Indiana, Dale & Teresa Garber of Greenville, Jane & Dan Long of Boones Mill, Virginia, Carl Garber of Bradford; 25 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; sisters Opal Marie Bayer of Greenvillle, Eva Nannie Shuttleworth of Greenville,Ida Mae Klosterman of Greenville.He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Virgil Taswell Garber and Ezra David Garber; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 4, at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 2996 Schnorf-Jones Rd, Arcanum, Ohio 45304 with interment following at Greenville Township Memory Gardens, Greenville. The family will receive friends from 2-5 and 6-8 PM Monday at the church. Online memories may be left for the family at www.jackson-sarver.com
