Philip Stivers

September 22, 1940 — December 19, 2019

Philip E. Stivers, 79, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2019, at Springmeade Health Center.  He was born September 22, 1940, in Ashland, Kentucky, to the late Edmund Wayne and Gladys Marie (McGuire) Stivers.  Phil married Joan E. (Gift) Stivers on July 30, 1960, and she survives in Pleasant Hill.

He will also be missed and remembered by his three children, Teri Shearer of Pleasant Hill, Timothy Stivers of Loveland, and Tammy (Antonio) Midlam of Pleasant Hill; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, David (Tori) Stivers of Peachtree City, Ga.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Dieckman.

Mr. Stivers retired from General Motors and was a member and minister at Christian Family Fellowship of Tipp City.  He loved reading, learning, and teaching the word of God.

Philip’s leave of absence only reminds his loved ones of the countless memories he has left behind.  The golden standard of a family man, Philip was married for 59 years, exploring the wonders of our world like raising children and growing stronger in his walk with God.  Compassionate, lively, loving, warm; these words describe the essence of Phil and what he lived for.

A memorial open house for family, friends, and neighbors will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, December 21, at his home, 17 Newton Drive.  Private burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Arrangements are in care of Moore Funeral Home, Covington.
