Robert Shade

SHADE, Robert L Age 89 of Piqua, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012, at Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born February 26, 1923, in Miami County, to his parents Jackson David & Helen (Burnsides) Shade. Robert was a 1941 graduate of Newton High School and worked as a tool and die maker. He was an Army Air Force WWII veteran where he served in the 509 Ordinance Division working on the Manhatten Project. He was a member of the Congressional Christian Church. Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy (Anthony) Shade in 2011; sister Beatrice Shade; brothers Carl, Kenny, Joseph Darrel, and Melvin Shade. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Kathy & Wayne Ingle of Piqua; sons and daughters-in-law Ronald & Karen Shade of Shelby Twp, MI, Timothy & Alice Shade of Hilliard; grandchildren Dennis & Cathy Ingle, Dale Andy & Tricia Ingle, Susannah & Jeff Harris, Robert Shade, Chris & Natalie Shade, Rebecca & Jade Freeman, Stacie & Mark Waschewski, Nikki & Scott Gohlke, Courtney & John Gray, Ted & Stephanie Shade, Rachael & Aric Zimmerman, Paul Shade, Matt Shade, Hannah Shade; 20 great-grandchildren; sister Lois Benning of Troy. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, May 1, at Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 10 S. High Street, Covington. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua. The family will receive friends from 10:30-12 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to charity of your choice.
