Robert E. Smith
Age 90, of Covington, passed away, Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Koester Pavilion. He was born July 27, 1924, in Covington, Ohio, to his parents William & Grace (Mutzner) Smith. Bob graduated from Covington High School and earned a degree in Agriculture from Ohio State University. He was a US Army veteran serving as a Military Police during WWII. He was a lifelong farmer in the Covington area and was a longtime member of the Covington Church of the Brethren. He was preceded in death by his parents William & Grace Smith; step-mother Daisy Smith; six sisters; two brothers. He will be missed and remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 29, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 10 S. High Street, Covington, with interment following at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Monday at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Covington Church of the Brethren, 101 N. Wall Street, Covington.
