Robert Wise

Robert Eugene “Bob” Wise, 100, of Troy, passed away Friday morning, March 24, 2023, at his residence. He was born March 22, 1923, in Covington, to the late Ferman Emanuel and Thelma (Via) Wise. Bob attended Covington Schools.

He was married to Elizabeth J. (Landis) Wise for 56 years; she preceded him in death in 1999. He is survived by his wife, Patricia K. (Hartley) Wise; daughter Bonnie Odle; grandsons Scott (Kim) Odle and Christopher (Cayce) Odle; great-grandchildren Jack, Nick, Addison & Luke Odle; his stepchildren, Scott (Tina) Logan, Jill (Larry) Ridenour and Rhonda (David) Davis; five step-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

Bob is also survived by siblings, Dixie (Kenny) Kimmel of Covington, Fernie LeFevre of Tucson, Ariz., Edward (Nancy) Wise and Larry (Darlene) Wise, all of Covington; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by siblings Edna Graham, Delores Hillard, Mary Ellen Parker, Wanetta Vulgamore, Wayne Wise and John Wise; a son-in-law, James Odle; and a granddaughter, Michelle Odle.

Bob was a retired 45-year master plumber, and a charter member of Friendship Grace Brethren Church, Covington. He and Pat enjoyed fishing and traveling. With his wife Elizabeth, they had traveled to all 50 states. Bob was also an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, camper and turtle trapper.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 30, at Friendship Grace Brethren Church, 5850 W. St. Rt. 41, Covington, with Pastor Roy Glass officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. Friends may visit from 10-11:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County.
