Roger J. Campbell, 84, of Troy, passed away Tuesday morning, August 6, 2024, at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, Troy. He was born August 8, 1939, in Troy, to the late Roger William and Mary Ella (Fisher) Campbell. He married Carol Jean (Mayo) Campbell on April 27, 1991; she survives.
He will also be missed and remembered by his children, James (Lavonne) Campbell of Huber Heights, Cynthia (Dick) Hill of Troy, Cheryl Riffell of Arcanum and Doug (Amber) Vanata of Madison, Alabama; six grandchildren, Rachel Everson, Ben Campbell, Jeremy Lockhart, Kaitlynn Frech, Brandon Riffell and Braxton Vance; ten great-grandchildren; and his brother Terry (Grace) Campbell of Clayton. He was preceded in death by his brother Stanley Campbell, and a great-granddaughter, Layla Renee.
Roger was a 1957 graduate of Tipp City High School and served in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years in law enforcement with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and retired from the shipping and receiving department of Sam’s Club.
Private graveside services and burial will be held at Miami Memorial Park, Covington, with military honors provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Arrangements are in care of Moore Funeral Home, Covington. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County. Online condolences may be sent to the Campbell family at moorefh.com.
