Shirley Puterbaugh

Shirley J. “Peg” Puterbaugh, 83, of Bradford, passed away Monday, October 14, 2019, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.  She was born December 4, 1935, in Covington, to the late James Brunton and Kathleen (Yount) Brunton Groff.  She married James L. Puterbaugh on April 13, 1957; he preceded her in death on January 25, 1992.

She will be missed and remembered by her four children, Jeff Puterbaugh of Greenville, Kelly Puterbaugh of Piqua, Steve Puterbaugh of Union City, OH, and Kristi Bayless of Bradford; a sister, Carolyn Weidner of Piqua; four grandchildren, Amber Hoop, Tara Bayless, Justin Bayless, and Lacey (Ryan) Alexander; 11 great-grandchildren, Brycelyn, Savannah, Scarlet, Aubreyonna, Jayston, Rylie, Keegan, Cooper, Tucker, Jensen, and Zayne; a brother-in-law, Kenny (Donna) Puterbaugh of Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mark Bayless; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Peg was a 1953 graduate of Covington High School and was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Bloomer.  She retired from Stanley Garage Doors in Covington after 27 years of service.  She was an animal lover, especially horses and dogs, and enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards and games, Jeopardy, and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 18, at Friedens Lutheran Church, 11038 W. Versailles Rd., Covington, with Rev. Michael Althauser officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S.
